TUSKS - SINGLE REVIEW

Tusks - Body Ache (Synths And Strings) (One
Little Independent Records)

Release Date: Out Now

Emily Underhill is the one woman genius behind Tusks and her latest release, 'Body Ache', is a great introduction for the uninitiated. The mingling of melodies like fireflies in the early evening light is mesmerising but that is nothing compared to the vocals that are soulful but icy cool at the same time. There are elements of Seaker, Jones and Portishead all present in this soup as the warm but sorrowful strings undulate in and out of focus like grief coming at you in waves. This is both sparse and sumptuous and I don't think I could love it any more than I do.
