I think Cornish indie rockers the Velvet Hands are well beyond the 'promising upstarts' phase as their third album approaches and new single 'I'll Be Free' has a certain assured swagger to it that supports my theory. The melodies and hooks are more defined but the rattling, raw energy is still there which is what makes them such an addictive sound. There are a couple of dates lined up for early 2025 and these guys always put their all into the live shows so mark your diaries and learn all the words so you can sing along in the mosh pit.
