It's been a while since I heard from singer-songwriter GG Fearn but I am delighted to get a new track in the ol' inbox Welsh dark-pop artist. 'Permanent Record' starts with woozy, juddering synths creating an atmosphere somewhere between Kate Bush and Goldfrapp before a striking set of piano chords shakes us from our reverie. This is classy, glassily cool and ready for heavy rotation with the swirling, hypnotising melodies being charmed by Fearn's soulful pop vocal. A triumphant return and no doubt. Oh, and absolutely ripe for a pumping dance remix if anyone is interested.
