The hardest working band around at the moment continue their ominously relentless assault on our ears with their latest EP, released amidst another slew of live dates (with more to be announced, no doubt). The 'Miracle' EP is a six track collection that opens with the title track, a cracking kick off with chiming piano notes, a thumping beat and the trio's trademark tight vocal harmonies all combining to lift your spirits up to the sky. 'Tell Me' is as heartfelt as they come with rippling piano notes and pleading vocals soon embraced by the rest of the band like mates propping their broken hearted comrade up at the bar.
Possibly the most English song title, 'Happy Enough', introduces to a song that builds beautifully in to a Passenger-esque sing-a-long stomper just tailor made for festivals. Similarly, 'Still Life' taps straight into your spirit of resilience and defiance with a chugging energy that makes you want to get up and face the day with renewed vim and vigour. The sparse arrangement of 'Only For You', just acoustic guitar and three vocals, shows the quality of the songwriting and the power of well used instruments (and I'm including the voice in that statement). The final track is 'Heavy Hearts', a track of such power and ambition that you can fully understand why these lads have been going down a storm opening for more established artists in the stadiums of Europe. Big things come this way for Tors and it would take a cold hearted person to suggest they don't thoroughly deserve it.
