THE MENSTRUAL CRAMPS - SINGLE REVIEW

The Menstrual Cramps - Antagonistic (Alcopop!
Records)

Release Date: Out Now

Not every band would tackle working on the frontline for a homelessness charity during the pandemic but, then again, not every band is the Menstrual Cramps. The Bristol punks have released new single 'Antagonistic' and it growls with a gurning, distorted bass line coming out of the shadows before the rest of the band join in with a punk-rock energy that is impossible to ignore. "I resent you working from home with a garden, log on just to moan" is the opening line, getting to the heart of the matter with the massive gap between the banana bread bakers and those sleeping in their car to protect their loved ones. This is angry, this is personal and this is still raw but it is delivered with such precision and power that it's hard not to get swept up in the energy.
