Mae Karthauser - Army Dreamers

It seems only fitting to enter 2024 with a message of peace and so we turn to the inimitable Mae Karthauser with her beautiful cover of Kate Bush's anti-war song, 'Army Dreamers'. Dainty piano notes with a hint of Victoriana get things going before Karthauser's voice flits over the top like an anxious but curious bird, hitting every one of the notes that Bush could. This song could always stop you in your tracks but this starkly beautiful rendition is both timely and haunting at a time when the world seems to be either on the brink of or in the mire of war. Happy new year everybody.
