Deva St. John – Preacher

This is the second song I’ve had
the pleasure of reviewing from Deva St. John and it hits hard from the get-go. ‘Preacher’
announces its arrival with a thunderous rumble of drums before the revving
motorbike of a guitar riff drums in and then the vocals come, breathlessly at
100mph. Punk energy, alt-pop melodies, rock’n’roll ethos and the kind of
delivery that Suzi Quatro would be proud of all swirl in a hurricane of sound
that makes you want to go out, have fun, kick ass and make take some names if
there’s enough time left. A pretender to the Rews throne? Perhaps.
