Alaskan outfit Ya Tseen have signed
up to the legendary Sub Pop label who never let us down and, on the evidence of
this release, those Sub Pop folks have still got an ear for talent. ‘Close the
Distance’ juxtaposes a pulsating beat with the softest and most soulful vocal
to create a sound that is organic, beautiful and, well, good for the soul. The
tune goes through stages of energy and pace taking in different vibes and that frisson
between man and machine that creates an unbelievable amount of intrigue in just
one song. The album is due later in the year and it just can’t help but be amazing
