Leeds’ prolific Elkyn is back
with yet another release in the shape of ‘Something’ which comes drifting our
way this murky February. There’s a real Grandaddy vibe about the sweeping
vistas, wonky keys and breathy vocals but this is undoubtedly English so if it
was recorded in a log cabin then that cabin would have been in the Peak District.
Elkyn is really evolving, at pace, into the kind of artist who needs to be
taken seriously and maybe given a BBC 6Music session at the earliest possible
opportunity.
