Tony Allen and Hugh Masekela have teamed for a whole album of collaboration and,
judging by this first missive, it’s going to be a real treat. ‘We’ve Landed’ is
fuelled by skittish Jazz beats courtesy of Allen and he is in fine, loose and
free flowing form. Then come the punctuating trumpet stabs of Masekela, rich
and full of passionate flavour all sewn together with a warm undercurrent of melodies
bubbling along on the water. A rare treat.
