Ahoy sailors. If it’s an oasis of
calm ye be after, then look no further than this latest offering from Portland’s
eminently talented Kennebec. ‘Kalahari’ is as organic as a song can be with slithering
strings and bouncing percussive notes intermingling with an easy beat that gets
those neck muscles working and that groove bone moving. I would love to see
Kennebec on a bill with Cosmo Sheldrake and Lemon Jelly so if there are any
benevolent bookers out there with a penchant for throwing surprise parties for
bloggers then it’s my birthday in July and I don’t have anything planned.
