OLYMPIA – SINGLE REVIEW

Olympia – Shoot to Forget
Olympia - Shoot to Forget

Release Date: Out Now

Well this is a slice of something wonderful. Melbourne based artist Olympia has created one of those immediately arresting songs with an equally arresting video to match and it’s genuinely one of my favourite things right now. ‘Shoot to Forget’ will appeal to fans of Anna Calvi or PJ Harvey but the quirky, off-kilter melody of the verses juxtaposed with the punchy, direct chorus and dreamy vocals really sets this apart as something truly original. “Hide behind the camera so he can shoot to forget, I was just a postcard from a gift shop left by a tourist” – so goes the opening lyric and if that doesn’t grab your attention and peak your interest then go back to your Greatest Showman soundtrack and leave me alone.
