Patawawa are back with another slice of electro-disco-soul to get your
Christmas party started and it is, predictably, delish. ‘Wires’ is coming as
part of a compilation on the Dutch label Boogie Angst and it was all the
ingredients of good time. The beat is heartbeat-like in its rhythm, the melody
is funkily designed to get your shoulders and hips moving, and that horn
section is just sublime. To top it all off, vocalist Beth Garrett has such a
joyful and soul infused voice that even if you didn’t feel like dancing you
kinda have to or you’d run the risk of offending her and, frankly, being a bit
of a buzzkill. Pull yourself together, its party season.
