Erin K might be American by birth,
but she has adopted Europe and Europe has adopted her with the Italians and
Germans being particular fans and it’s easy to understand why. Regardless of
location, however, new single ‘Happiness’ is a bitter-sweet slice of indie-folk
that it’s hard not to fall in love with. Erin K’s voice is deadpan and assured
like Carly Simon and floats calmly along on top of the rolling bass notes and
gentle guitar melodies. This is like settling in to your favourite chair after
a particularly trying week and finding your favourite film on TV. Happiness
indeed.
