Now, I’m a sucker for an animated
video and for all things retro so Liverpool’s Eyesore & The Jinx have got
off to a great start with new single ‘Gated Community’. The drums kick in like
the Sweet followed by a Rockabilly riff and screaming guitars soundtracking the
kind of computer graphics I wasted large portions of my youth staring at. Duane
Eddy style guitars and the distilled spirit of Jon Spencer flow through this track
as we watch our animated heroes try to escape from the evil floating head of Donald
Trump. Throw in Jonathan Fire Eater vocals and a sense of country-punk and you’ve
got yourself a winning combination – albeit one that sounds nothing like your
average Scouse band.
