The Dutch-Welsh crossover is a rare
one but in Accu we have an arch proponent of the rare genre. ‘Did You Count
Your Eyes?’ is a lo-fi electro throb which sounds like an early Bjork track
before the live drums kick in and then it turns in to something between Can, a
Yes demo and the kind of thing the Long Blondes would probably be doing if they
were still together. Accu’s voice is sultry and emotionless in equal measure
which is canny trick to pull off and, along with the edgy instrumentation, it
makes this an intriguing and compelling listen.
