L.A.D – Single Review

L.A.D – Dance Floor
L.A.D - Dance Floor

OK, so if you were looking for a super 80s tune with Daft Punk production qualities and Nile Rogers and Mark King playing duelling basses then I might just have the tune for you – also, how long were you looking for that particular tune, you must be hungry. ‘Dance Floor’ is the debut single by British funsters L.A.D and it’s the kind of pure fun track that the 80s was built around. This song is all synths layered up like rainbow cake, hedonistic lyrics and beats that couldn’t be more processed if they were made out of spam. If this was pastiche you’d say it was incredibly well observed but I think this comes from a place of love and joy, channelling the likes of Whitney, Tiffany and Toyah in all the best possible ways. A whole lot of fun if all you want to do is dance.
