Let's face it, as names go for a
Canadian folk singer, Brooklyn Doran is a strong start. Now let's hear what
she's got to say about life, shall we? 'There's A Light On' is towards the
jazzier end of the folk spectrum with shuffling drums, a jaunty bass line and
skittish guitars all mingling with one another like sexually charged teenagers
at a barn dance. Doran's voice is light, sweet and full of a sense of mischief
that you can't help but be enchanted by. This is absolutely delightful stuff in
the vein of 6 Day Riot or Michelle Shocked at her more playful so come get
yourself a hatful.
