HARDACTORS - SINGLE REVIEW

Hardactors - Half Moon Eyes (Ee Music)
Hardactors - Half Moon Eyes

Release Date: 8th December 2014

Taken from the fortchoming Bloom EP, new single 'Half Moon Eyes' from Suffolk/Essex boys and comes along with nice shiny video as part of the deal. The song starts off with a moodiness that Keane would be proud of but then builds in to something more epic and stadium sized despite the understated class of the music. Sparse percussion underpins soaring guitars, well placed synth and a bouncing bassline to create a savvy, classy, suave piece of indie pop that is way more polished than it ought to be given the band's tender years. Throw in a dark streak running through the middle of the tune like fat through a juicy steak and you have the kind of tune that will surely get picked up and spun around the globe if there is any justice in the world. Hardactors are a hard act to follow - just getting that in before any other bloggers/journos pick up on the vague pun.
