THE FORTY FOURS- SINGLE REVIEW

The Forty Fours - Now She's Gone (Blow Up
Records)

Release Date: Out Now

Upstart trio the Forty Fours have a retro aesthetic that takes you back to the 70s via 90s Britpop and I'm here for it. New single 'Now She's Gone' has more than a hint of the Beatles to it (circa 'I Want To Hold Your Hand') with punctuated guitar chords, a loose beat and the kind of bass line that holds everything together. Throw in the vocal harmonies like the lavish icing on an already tasty cake and you've got yourself a real treat. This one has a limited run of 500 7" copies as well so if you can get your hand on one of them then you're a lucky sod.
