RUSTY SHACKLE - SINGLE REVIEW

Rusty Shackle - Riders Of The Purple Sage (Get
Folked Records)

Release Date: Out Now

The moody folk infused rock of Welsh outfit Rusty Shackle automatically appeals to a part of my musical soul so new single 'Riders Of The Purple Sage' immediately drew me in. The expansive, almost prog arrangement is kept grounded by the folky instrumentation but this has far more to do with the Levellers than Mumford & Sons so don't go making that mistake. There's a gnarly guitar solo as the song takes a new direction for the final third and, honestly, if you're down the front when this one kicks in at a show then I will pray for you (which will be useless as I'm an atheist but, y'know, thoughts and prayers).
