Sitting down to review this on the day the British Prime Minister resigns feels weirdly apt but whenever you listen to 'Election Day', the new single from Lily Seabird, will be a big day. The brooding, grunge tones of this one build in a distorted frenzy until the verse drops the intensity down and a seemingly feeble voice appears through the static. Then comes the folk-grunge eruption of the chorus which is a mix of Laura Marling, Frank Turner, and Crazy Arm with a real sense of injustice burning at its heart.
