I was just starting to think that I might not be able to love Pigeon anymore than I do but then I heard their outstanding new single 'Black James Dean' and, folks, we're moving into obsession territory. The Margate 5 piece hit you with a brooding beat and bass combo that is part punk, part garage and part shoegaze but then the vocals turn the kaleidoscope and you find yourself entranced by the repeated lyrics of "I am the black James Dean, put me on your TV screen". There's another outstanding video with a wild west theme and Craig Charles is giving these guys a big up on BBC 6Music so it's only a matter of time before the world is wearing Pigeon t-shirts. Get behind me in the queue though, I was here first....
