Nell Davies - Out Of This World

As Cornwall gets battered by storm Goretti it seems only fitting that I spend some time listening to one of the county's more tempestuous musical forces. Nell Davies starts 2026 by releasing new single 'Out Of This World', an initially gentle and demure indie ballad with tightly strung guitars and a soft, clicking beat. The fire that burns within this song and within Davies, for that matter, comes in the sweetly delivered vocals that contain lyrics like "all the world's a dumpster fire, a boring fucking grind" - an ode to wanting to escape the mundane and repeatable experiences that make up most of our days.
