Calling yourself January Sixteen sort of ties you to releasing something every January 16th but if you've got the material then why not? 'When It Breaks' is certainly something worth releasing as the furious garage-punk energy hits around the face from the first second and then the band settle into a moody indie chug. There are elements of Echo & the Bunnymen mixed with Foo Fighters and Redd Kross which makes for an almighty noise and a whole lot of energy. If jangle-punk isn't a genre then this track might just have invented it.
