London collective Twat Union have brought us another golden nugget in their anti-male-gaze anthem, 'Tiny Shorts'. A beefy riff and thumping drums get us going before the semi-spoken-word vocals join in to tell a story of changing into small shorts and the reaction it engenders from men. As usual with Twat Union, the lyrics are engaging, interesting and delivered with wry wit via a punk vocal that has one foot in the fierce camp and one foot on the neck of melody. Also, "would you look at thoughts on that one?" is surely one of the lines of the year.
