There is both a festive theme and a nod to remembrance on this latest single from Dan Whitehouse so it's no surprise to see it released on the 11th November. 'The Bells Of Brierly Hill' opens with a Christmassy piano melody but then the lyrics transport us to the muddy, shivering trenches of war. Whitehouse's warm but honest vocal adds pathos to an emotive tale and if it doesn't make you feel grateful, lucky, and safe then I'd be truly surprised.
