Manchester's Better Joy continues to impress on new single 'Plugged In' and I mean that from a musical perspective but also the lo-fi creativity of the accompanying video. The melody pings around a simple guitar riff that grows in intensity throughout the song while the vocals gradually start to believe their own hype as the chorus lyric of "Well listen now and listen loud, well you're the one that plugs me in" gets increasingly under your skin. A real slow burner of a song but all the best things come slowly and then all at once.
