Joe Hicks - Time Is A Thief

Nearly four years ago, Berkshire singer-songwriter produced my favourite single of 2022 with his track 'Mirror Mirror' and now (finally) he's back with new track 'Time Is A Thief'. This new track shimmers into life before a loose and unpredictable beat brings some energy and a bassline snakes around trying to fill in the gaps with a vibe that's somewhere between jazz and prog but in a super groovy way. Then comes the trademark smooth Hicks vocal and delicate acoustic plucking adding some melody to the rhythm section. Joe Hicks might be the personification of quality over quantity but when the quality is good, how can we complain? Single of the year potential again? I wouldn't bet against it.
