The effortlessly cool but oh-so-relatable Freya Beer is back with her new single 'Cry Baby' and if I didn't know better I'd accuse her of both time travelling and theft. You see, the guitar stabs, heart-broken vocals and shimmering melodies all sound like a classic lost Motown song delivered with some modern day Winehouse charm and a raw punk energy. But no, no accusations here because this is all Freya Beer and when you couple it with the video of our heroine lounging in a park with a copy of Lolita then you know you are in the presence of art. Cool art but art nonetheless.
