MILKSHED - EP REVIEW

milkshed. - LMTD EP

Release Date: Out Now

I've been waiting on this one for a while after a string of frankly brilliant singles so I hope you're as excited as I am for the second EP from Westcountry noise peddlers milkshed. The 'LMTD' EP kicks off, in every sense, with title track 'LMTD' crashing in through the cymbals and staggering around like a classy drunk with super-cool guitars and sneering rock'n'roll vocals. The angular and urgent riff on 'Do It Again' is straight up early Queens of the Stone Age mixed with Dinosaur Pile-Up and I, for one, am absolutely in love with energy being pummeled into my ears by these three rock Gods.

'Love/Hate' has a stabbing, itchy feeling like someone on the edge of a breakdown due to sleep deprivation and too many energy drinks but it is still eminently moshable. The EP closes out on 'Just Wanna Give', a track that jangles with indie-grunge energy at one end but a dirty, rumbling bass line and loose drums at the other. I feel like this is another big step for milkshed. in the search for wider recognition and if you've got any sense you'll walk alongside them.
