Essex boys Bilk have just reaffirmed my faith in music. Just as bands are falling out of favour, along comes a trio of mates with a song like 'F Up' that is purely about having fun, getting smashed and then having some more fun. Perky, spunky guitars and a bouncing bass keep pace with a loose beat create an early Libertines vibe before Mike Skinner-esque vocals chat their way through the verse. The video is like watching the children of Supergrass dick about in London as they sneer lines like "why get a job when everyone moans about theirs?" with Sex Pistols attitude. The lads are out on tour in early 2025 in support of their debut album - 'Essex, Drugs and Rock and Roll' - so I'd get yourself prepped for a good time.
