PROBLEM PATTERNS - SINGLE REVIEW

Problem Patterns - I Think You Should Leave
(Alcopop! Records)

Release Date: Out Now

It feels a little on the nose that on the night of the general election I should be reviewing a song called 'I Think You Should Leave' but when these things fall in your lap you have to just run with them. This is the new single from Belfast trio Problem Patterns and it gets off to a great start with a grumbling bass line and clattering drums before the fuzzed up guitars join in with punky energy. The message here is that Belfast (and hundreds of other towns and cities like it) would be better if the best and brightest didn't leave all the time but, instead, hung around to collaborate on a better future. Altogether now, "everybody leaves and nothing changes, I'll stay here and create the spaces".
