Another contender for band name of the year for 2024 is Man/Woman/Chainsaw who arrive armed with their new single, ‘Ode To Clio’. I’m not clear if this is a love song to a small Renault or something deeper but the gently floating melodies and rolling piano notes are enough to convince me that the emotion is real. The softly woven vocal melodies are enough to soothe the most savage of beasts and the way the song switches into a prog-metal rattle half way through is equal parts surprising, confusing and exhilarating – just the way love should be.
