The fact that Jake Isaac isn't one of the biggest artists in the UK right now is, frankly, criminal but maybe his new single will sort that out. 'Black Or White' is as effortlessly soulful as they come with a simple but funky acoustic line drawing the outlines for Isaac and friends to colour in with gorgeous vocals, gospel choirs, horns, flutes and a laid back beat for shading. There are strong Marvin Gaye vibes going on here but Jake Isaac has a sound that pulls together so many different elements like a conductor, band leader and artist all rolled in to one.
