With a strong bid for the band name of the year award, we have Brighton trio Daffodildos and their LGBTQ+ anthem 'No Pride'. Over the top of a crowd chanting the punky guitars, scratchy melodies and rattling drums kick in like all the best protest songs. Furiously sung lyrics rattle out to match the energy with brilliant lines like "We're here, we're queer, we're never gonna disappear" railing against the corporate bandwagonisation of Pride and the LGBTQ+ movement. Brilliant energy and message combined.
