I feel a bit stupid writing this because I feel like everybody worth their salt already knows how ace the Lovely Eggs are but then, if that were the case, they would have been on stage at the Grammys the other day, wouldn't they? Anyway, while they're still ours, the duo have laid a golden egg in the shape of new single 'My Mood Wave', a track which surfs in with a West Coast slacker energy in the dirty, grungy guitars and laid-back beat. The vocals are so drawled and dead-eyed they will have Best Coast and Sleigh Bells fans in a veritable frenzy but it's the overall vibe of a band effortlessly sounding like the Beatles had they grown up in LA which sells this one so strongly.
