I'm always delighted to get new music from Bristol trio Pollyanna Blue, especially when it's as good as new single 'Strong Enough'. Starting with the kinds of chords that could in a grunge, shoegaze or mariachi direction, this track is the very definition of brooding with elements of Rews, early Nirvana, Veruca Salt and Redwood all bubbling up at various points. The drums really thud while the guitars chug but when the chorus drops those soaring vocals are seriously uplifting and more than pass the hairs-on-the-back-of-your-neck test. This one is a treat, something a little bit special.
