GAFFA TAPE SANDY - SINGLE REVIEW

Gaffa Tape Sandy - Scrapbook (Alcopop! Records)

Release Date: Out Now

Just when I think Gaffa Tape Sandy can't get any better they come along and casually drop a single like 'Scrapbook' to take it to the next level. Itchy but swaying guitars get things underway before the drums and bass add a little lilt to proceedings but it's the vocals switching from sweet'n'demure to razor-sharp'n'cutting that gives this one the edge. Elements of Veruca Salt, Rews and Florence + the Machine at their most punky are all in there and the middle eight even has a reggae swagger to it which will work brilliantly live. A hugely underrated band and one that you need to get out and see on their tour if you can.
