London based femme fatale Freya Beer makes her first thrust into 2024 with new single 'Write Her Off (WHO)' and you'd better be ready for it. Tumbling, rumbling drums and a pulsating bass vs guitar duel set the scene but it is Beer's seductive siren song that sets this one apart from the other contenders. There are elements of Goldfrapp or Florence + the Machine to the overall vibe but the blues-grunge energy is more Jon Spencer Blues Explosion or Mudhoney which is, I think we can all agree, a delicious combination. Delicious but potentially deadly.
