So, here's an unlikely collaboration between Plymouth blues troubadour Gozer Goodspeed and Canadian trip-hop pioneer AltBraKz resulting in the superb track 'The Opposite of a Weapon'. Opening with some Jazz inspired piano and Goodspeed's soulful vocal tones, the drums come clattering in with a rare freedom to take hold of the track and lead it it on, dancing down the street. Dusky vocals, erratic drums, melodies landing like raindrops and all the while the bass slides around in the background, providing subtle depth to the whole affair. A cinematic fever-dream from a Chicago dive bar after too much whiskey and not enough sleep.
