Gaffa Tape Sandy - Split

I'm never quite sure what it's supposed to mean when a band says it has a more 'mature' sound (is it cheese related? Do they smoke a pipe now) but that's what the press release for this latest single for Gaffa Tape Sandy says so I'll give it my full consideration. 'Split' is, surprisingly, completely unhinged and brilliantly punky like lost material from the Fall being performed by the cast of the Suicide Squad on the set of Squid Game like their lives depend on getting an audience response. Angular guitars, desperately delivered vocals and spiky drums all make for an intense but intoxicating listen and if this is what maturity sounds like then Gaffa Tape Sandy have my vote at the next general election.
