Wuzy Bambussy - Just Shy of Why

First things first, Wuzy Bambussy is a great name for a band and that's always a great start. New single 'Just Shy of Why' starts with a brilliantly chugging guitar riff that reminds me of Squeeze or Roxette but when the vocals of Kat Harrison join in, the whole tune is transformed. There are elements of St Etienne, ABBA and Lily Allen all rolled up in this one and that is a lethal (and cool) pop combination. There's also a nod to Sophie Ellis-Bexter's earlier work in theaudience with a darker, film-noir style that is utterly irresistible and unmistakably British.
