The darkness and moodiness of this latest release from Canadian artist Cherry Lena transports me straight back to the peak periods of bands like Portishead, Roni Size and Everything But The Girl and that's no bad thing. That said, 'EDGE' has a slicker, more pop vibe running throughout that makes this sound fresh and adds a melodic smoothness to the harsh and insistent beats. The addition of woozy vocals that are half seductive and half blissed out completes the picture and makes this a must for your late night jams playlist.
