This double release from NYC artist Angelica Garcia are her first sung entirely in Spanish and her first on her new label Partisan records but there is nothing inexperienced or unpolished about this. First up, 'Y Grito' is a 93 second blast of intense, rhythmic energy that writhes, pulsates and thrusts with unbridled energy and a laser like focus as Garcia switches from a rapped style of singing to something more choral and semi-religious. 'El Que', by comparison, is a slower and moodier affair that builds from early 90s Madonna breathiness to something more intense, more vital and altogether more enthralling. These two tracks show an artist in the midst of artistic freedom and the results are mouth watering.
