Black Grape might always be considered Shaun Ryder's side project but I still maintain the collective has produced some of the Madchester legend's work and I think that would include latest single 'Milk'. Some 90s percussion gets us going before the dirtiest of bass lines joins in followed by the breathless energy and pulsating melodies that blur the lines between Black Grape and Gorillaz. Ryder and partner in crime Kermit then take on the microphone like it's a battle in some underground bar in the middle of Manchester. This is an absolute beast of a tune and ripe for some serious spins if the world knows what's good for it.
