I bloody love Middle Kids. They're like your mate who just can't be kept down and has endless enthusiasm and optimism. The band's new single 'Highlands' is insanely uplifting with driving guitars, punchy drums and the kind of indie-alt-pop vocals that money can't buy all combining to make the kind of song that will drag even the most lethargic from their beds on a rainy Sunday. The repeated refrain of "I can't keep waiting", delivered with increasing desperation and frustration, just makes you want to leap in to action and sometimes we all need a bit of that - which is why Middle Kids are so essential and brilliant.
