Making a strong play for the band name of the year is Goth Fight Cage armed with their perky indie single 'Optimism'. Scratchy, urgent guitars and a beat that has places to be get things going and the vocals kick in with a sense of youthful exuberance being trampled by life. There is as much of the Kinks, Elvis Costello and the Undertones about this as there is the Strokes, the Libertines and Young Knives which, if put together on a bill, is the kind of show I'd want to spend a summer's day dancing around at. Smashing stuff.
