50 YEAR STORM - SINGLE REVIEW

50 Year Storm - Doldrums

Release Date: Out Now

Cornish trio 50 Year Storm are back to rock your socks off (and any other items of clothing for that matter) with their new single 'Doldrums' and, well, wow is all I can say. A dirty, funky, low slung riff gets things going with a Queens of the Stone Age vibe before the drums crack in like Indiana Jones' whip being used in sex dungeon. The final piece of the puzzle is the vocal which sounds like a crooner from the future where they only have Elvis, Jim Jones and Joe Cocker records for reference. Oh, and then the song goes all space-rock-opera in the middle, just for shits and giggles. Certainly the band's best release to date but it does beg the question; where's the album? Huh?
