Dandelion & Burdock is my dad's favourite drink and I always hated it as a child but the older I get the more I appreciate it's subtle flavours and the fact that it hangs in there despite never being the popular drink. Now Trouser Dress (aka East Yorkshire singer-songwriter Cardin Mucklin) has made a song out of it and 'Dandelion & Burdock' will grow on you too. A folky melody gets us underway with Mucklin's vocal layers joining in to add a richness and warmth and an urgent, twitchy beat making sure things keep moving forwards. There are hints of Lily Allen, Kate Nash and Mae Karthauser to this but, above all else, this song sounds fresh, original and worth spending your time on. More of this please.
